It's been a crazy week for the Breuer Unleashed crew!
On Monday Jim Breuer faced the toughest audience of his comedy career thus far: The local daycare. Despite pulling out such awesome bits as "Can you make this face?", and "Who can sing the entire 'VeggieTales' song?", the youngsters' taunts and jeers got the better of him, and he walked off before a third show. But don't judge him until you've had a pack of unruly 6 year olds heckle you while you attempt to open for "VeggieTales". As Jim's young daughter agreed, his performance may have been better recieved had he worn a funny hat... good advice for next time.
Meanwhile, while small children are causing Jim to question his entire comedy career, Larry has been facing his own struggle. As Jim and Pete have been taking every opportunity to point out to him (purely out of concern though, of course), Larry put on a few lbs over the vacation. But come on, isn't that what vacation is for?
But help is on the way, in the form of RawDog's own Pete Dominick! Little did we know that he spent years as a personal trainer while moving up through the comedy ranks. He's stepped in and volunteered to train Larry, and the pounds are sure to melt off.
Pete Correale returned from the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival in good spirits, with all of his shows having been a major success. While he was out there he noticed that a comedian was coincidentally doing a joke that was similar to a joke that another comedian does. He raised the issue-- If you notice a comedian doing a bit that is similar to one that another comedian already does, is it your place to mention it to them? Maybe if someone had mentioned this or this to Carlos Mencia then, this wouldn't have happened...

On Wednesday we got the awesome news that rockstar Chris Cornell would be joining us in studio. Most excited by the news was DJ Lou, who is not just a huge fan of Cornell's but a huuuuuuuuuge fan of Cornell's best friend, a one Eddie Vedder. Listeners helped Lou brainstorm questions he might be able to ask about Pearl Jam that would make a big impression, but in the end everyone agreed that when talking Chris Cornell it would be best to focus on Chris Cornell.
And Chris Cornell did not disappoint. He was totally calm and cool, a rockstar in every way. And one of the coolest things about him is his belief that drugs, alcohol, and partying are unneccessary and in fact, stifiling to creative performance. If you've been listening to the show you know that everyone has been going nuts over his haunting cover of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" which is on his new album, "Carry On". As it turns out, he had been trying to surprise his band mates with crazier and crazier cover songs during his solo acoustic sets in concerts, and he thought Michael Jackson would be the ultimate in unexpected covers. Only after reading the lyrics to "Billie Jean" did he realize that the song was way deeper than he expected.

And that wasn't the only visit from a rockstar on Thursday. On the exact opposite of the spectrum, was former Kiss drummer ("the cat") Peter Criss. And I'm not going to lie, after the Gene Simmons debacle, the guys were a little wary of any former Kiss-ers. Everyone was sort of expecting this:
But what we got was the happiest little Dustin Hoffman-looking dude on this side of Long Island.
He's recently been inducted into the Long-Island hall of fame, and he fight riiiiiiiiight in with the "Strong Island"-centric Breu crew. In what seems to be a common theme amongst our cooler guests, he attributes his non-douchebagginess to the anchor of wife and family, and a faith in something larger than himself. His solo album, "Carry On" is not what you might expect, definitely worth checking out.

In about an hour we'll be hanging out with comedians Pablo Francisco and Bobby Collins. Madness is sure to ensue.
